What is Academic IELTS?

IELTS Academic is designed for students planning to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels in English-speaking countries. It assesses whether you're ready to begin studying in an environment where English is the language of instruction.

Reading

60 minutes, 40 questions

3 long academic reading passages

No extra time to transfer answers

Writing

60 minutes, 2 tasks

Task 1 (20 mins)

Describe visual information (graph, chart, diagram)

Minimum 150 words, academic style

Task 2 (40 mins)

Write an academic essay (minimum 250 words)

Present and justify an opinion, analyze issues

Speaking

11-14 minutes, face-to-face interview

Part 1: Introduction (4-5 mins)
